NEW BOXING COACH COOMERA GOLD COAST

Jnr Ese

Junior Ese was taught how to box by his father at 5 years of age. He trained on and off in boxing while playing rugby union as a kid. He had his first amateur fight as a heavyweight when he left school and then fought as a middleweight, 20 fights in total. After finishing rep/premiere club rugby in 2006 he won a few novice, regional titles in NZ and then fought in a few golden glove tournaments. In 2012 he decided to move to Australia with his family for a change of lifestyle and to further his boxing career.

He joined Ashmore PCYC after moving from NZ, training under Damo Omara (Damo now coaches at Nerang PCYC) but an injury to his knee halted him from fighting here in Australia. His knee has now been surgically repaired and plans to be back in the squared ring sometime in 2015. Junior is a top bloke and awesome coach! It’s an absolute pleasure having him at Empire Boxing.
